Geraud Darnis
Carrier President

Carrier President Geraud Darnis led a group of officials and dignitaries in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Willis H. Carrier Total Indoor Environmental Quality (TIEQ) lab at the Syracuse Center of Excellence (SyracuseCoE) in Environmental and Energy Systems headquarters in Syracuse, N.Y.

At Carrier, environmental stewardship is far more than an efficiency rating or LEED point, it is a mindset—an understanding that how we design, manufacture and service heating, ventilating, air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment can fundamentally change the world. Across all applications, Carrier is committed to helping the industry discover new ways to design and install sustainable systems and solutions.

We invest hundreds of millions of dollars every year in new technologies, including those for the environment. As an example of environmental stewardship, Carrier pledged $1.5 million for the creation of the world-class, 10,000-square-foot laboratory named for Dr. Willis H. Carrier at the Syracuse Center of Excellence, a partnership with Syracuse University. This first-of-its kind lab facilitates cutting-edge research into the effects of multiple factors—including temperature, humidity, air quality, lighting, and sound—on human health and performance in building environments.
